- Behavior theorists define learning as the acquisition of new behavior based on new environmental conditions of the learner.Theorists who abide by the behaviorist perspective identify conditioning as a universal learning process each producing separate behavior patterns:
Classical conditioning which happens when a natural reflex responds to a stimulus. A specific stimulus will produce a specific response. An example of this would be when a student shows certain irrational fears such as fear of failure or fear of public speaking.
