Acierno and the other writers aimed to estimate prevalence and assess correlates mistreatment and neglect of aged individuals. The method used in this study were limited to random sampling. The study group chose to randomly select a national sample by using digit dialing across geographic strata. Using computer-assisted telephone interviewing to standardize collection of demographic, risk factor and mistreatment data the team complied a representative sample of the population of interest. Logistic regression was calculated by subjecting prevalence estimates and mistreatment correlates.
