Let’s argue against this statement.
Matching employees with the organizational culture should start in the screening of applicants and early socialization of those hired into the healthcare culture. However, for those employee that are already working, this process can still be accomplished this through education and an effective leader who puts in place certain strategies (discussed below). For the few employees (there is often a handful of resistant workers) that cannot or will not change, other corrective or reprimand measures should be in place, and then if the problems are serious enough and continue, e.g. negative, harassment, etc. these employees should be given their walking papers while keeping with the laws of termination.
Leaders or healthcare managers have the responsibility to develop an atmosphere that benefits both employees and the organization. People’s behavior can be influenced and shaped. This requires managers to put in place and use a number of different types of strategies and policies that give the employees a sense of fulfillment in their job positions. This type of work environment has other advantages. It increases productivity, morale, and commitment based on a feeling of shared purpose and solidarity between subordinates and managers.
