Developed by MCHP, these 13 measures of quality of care in primary care, are divided into two groups and focus on family physician behavior. The first group, Disease Prevention / Health Promotion indicators, include five measures: childhood immunization, influenza vaccination, cervical cancer screening, cholesterol screening, and blood sugar screening. The second group, Acute and Chronic Disease Management indicators, include eight measures: anticoagulation medication monitoring, antidepressant prescription follow-up, asthma care, potentially inappropriate prescribing of benzodiazepines for older adults, diabetes care: cholesterol testing, diabetes care: eye examination, post-myocardial infarction (MI) care: Beta-Blocker prescribing, and post-myocardial infarction (MI) care: cholesterol testing.
