The course is concerned with shifting notions of private and public, and how, in contemporary daily life, any sense of a clear, secure boundary between the private and public experiences of individuals and groups is undone. Keep this in mind when thinking about all of your assessment.
Assessment for the semester is based around your investigation of a site or situation that enables you to focus on this question of relations between the public and the private: how those relations are taking place, whether they have changed and/or are changing; the insights to be gained from your focus; and perhaps the implications of what you observe.
