Get Help Now!My leadership style:Leadership is a broad term and could have various interpretations depending on the person elaborating on it. To me, leadership is the person’s capability to guide and inspire others in an organization in order to achieve a common goal. To me, one should lead by example and by providing others with enough resource sin order to manage themselves. Moreover, being hands off and allowing others, in the organization, to self manage is essential. Leadership often demands to deal with uncertainty and to take decisions hoping that other people will follow. Success in leadership does not come from the role or title itself, but rather from clear purpose, passion and self-awareness. I believe that there are various important values that one should live by in order to be considered a successful leader. Those include building trust, leading by example and caring for the others as one would care for him/herself. Those leadership factors might sound simple, but they are very important as they are connected to psychology.Leadership is not a simple task, it is collection of different psychological theories. Leaders have to be caring in order to make sure the groups their leading are capable of achieving the common goal they’re working on. According to the book “The Psychology of Human Leadership,” “Leaders ought to act responsibly or take care of the emotional wellbeing of th epeople they lead” (Paschen and Dihsmaier, 2). Moreover, power is a vital skill in order to perform the leadership successfully. The psychologists Paschen and Dihsmaier express the importance of power in leadership by stating, “You must have the capability to incur ‘costs’ for the people who refuse to comply with your leadership” (6). These costs are not necessarily physical costs, but are explained metaphorically. Without having the power to incur cost, successful hierarchy is not present. Furthermore, leadership always requires one to have a goal in order to lead somewhere. It might sound simple and obivious, but it is important to reflect on what the end-result of the task is. ” A certain action can only be reliably interpreted as a leadership action if we assume it has goals” (Paschen and Dihsmaier, 12). People tend to focus on the behavior or the current taks at hand, which makes them forget the goal. It is essential to keep in mind the final goal of whatever it is one is achieving.
