Stan presents in counseling with a drinking problems. He considers himself a loner. He has had a rough time getting along with people. According to Stan, when he is drinking, things don’t appear to be so overwhelming, He is also afraid that people will be bored with him. He has very few friends, and admits that people frighten him. He also feels overwhelmed when around strong, attractive women He harbors feelings that they won’t think much of him as a man. He is experience anxiety and feels as a failure.
