Genetic methods and engineering can change DNA at the molecular level, in plants, animals and human beings. This challenges Christian theology about the nature of “God’s?creation and the purpose of his creation, and what we should or should not do to that creation, discussed further below. We do not know the consequences of changing creation in such major ways. Although iti challenges some major tenets of Christian theology, scientifically, however, it has some positive implications as seen below. Christianity is not against science, only when it challenges main tents of Christian theology. For example, using genetic methods to learn about normal and abnormal traits is one thing, but it more about the slippery slope theory and what they decide to do with the findings. Will it lead to genetic and DNA changes so people’s genetic imprint changes in order to be more “normal” or to prevent potential disease? What DNA will be passed on to our offspring? What will the long term consequences of DNA changes to plants, animals and human beings?
