Prejudice is the act of judging or already having an assumed ‘true opinion’ of someone or something even before coming to enough information and knowledge that can, at the very least, guarantee a fair and accurate judgement. Prejudice happens when we form certain ideas beforehand based on factors like our own culture and experience. Consider for example a jury member who feels very much that an accused is guilty because of the accused’s race. This is what we consider racial prejudice.
