• How does “toxic stress” and trauma impact the developing brain, and what is at least one “take away” regarding “Trauma Informed” classrooms that you will use in your work.

• There are several children in your class who chew and mouth toys, and frequently drool. What do you need to know about what items need to be cleaned, sanitized or disinfected? Briefly share what are the differences between these three in your classroom.

• Premature infants are at high risk of medical complications. Describe at least [2] common health issues preemies may have and how it could potentially impact development and learning in your classroom.

• List and briefly describe the four criteria used to define Fetal Alcohol syndrome (FAS). How is FAS related to FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders).

• Describe at least [2} common medical issues students with NTDs (Neural Tube Defects) might experience, and how will you accommodate these in a classroom.

• You just found out one of your students is diagnosed with Diabetes. What is the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, and what would you expect [1] accommodation might be on the student’s IEP and/or 504 Plan.

Extra Credit: Considering the age ranges of the children you work with, what “anticipatory guidance” topics would you want to potentially share with families, and/or the children.
